NIGHT BASEBALL
NIGHT BASEBALL
By Julianna McCarthy
it was getting there right after work
it was two innings played in the dusk
it was lights coming on in the third
it was moon rise in the sixth
and starlight after the game
and walking out of the circle of lights
and driving home past bedtime
and getting undressed in the dark
and watching the game on the ceiling
and winning and winning and winning
